Legendary writers H.P. Lovecraft and Stephen King often used the appearance of Whippoorwills as a symbolic harbinger of death to come in there horror novels. But that doesnt mean you cant enjoy the Whippoorwill song. Its call is vigorous yet truely unique and pretty if heard from afar.
